Hot Water Systems

Hot water systems are equipment built for the regulation and heating od water temperature in a home. They help heat up water and pass them through pipes for occupants, this gives occupants the luxury of heating water without having to do it themselves (probably boil in a kettle or use an electric boiler). People rely completely on hot water systems to supply all their hot water needs in the home and these systems only fail to do this if they are not properly maintained. Plumbing Services Rockdale are experts at the installation, repair and maintenance of different kinds of hot water systems. Our team of skilled plumbers are here to help you out with any kind of hot water system you would like to install, repair and maintain. Here are 3 major types of water heating systems.

Electric Hot Water System
This is one of the most used type of hot water systems. It involves the installation of a piece of heating equipment inside a tank. This tool helps heat the water stored in the tank to a specified degree of temperature just like an electric kettle. Just by clicking a button, these systems start to heat up water stored in the tank, thereby giving the home and its occupants enough hot water for the day at least. The only serious challenge you will probably face with this system is power. If there is power outage, this system is rendered useless as it only works with electricity. Setting up this kind of system usually doesn’t cost much, depending on the service provider you hire.

Gas Hot Water system
Unlike electric water heating system, gas hot water systems are run by gas and not power. In Australia, installation of gas hot water system is slowly taking over the market but we don’t think it will happen anytime soon. This system is perfect for homes with lots of occupants or even a dormitory; the rate at which water gets heated is very high compared to the electric system which makes it suitable for a high usage rate. There are two major ways a gas hot water system can be installed, they are; gas hot water tanks and continuous flow. Storage tanks include the use of tanks to store hot water. Just like the electric, the heating element is put in the tank and heats up water stored in it. The continuous flow has the element installed outside of the storage tank but has a network through which water can flow into it.

Solar Hot Water System
This hot water system relies on solar power to heat up water. This eco-friendly hot water system utilizes renewable solar energy to transfer hot water from storage tanks into the home. Installing this system will also require installing solar panels as this is their power source. Even though this seems like a good option due to the eco-friendly feature, there are downsides to installing a solar hot water systems. One big example is absence of sunrays. This usually happens during winter, when the sun doesn’t come out the system doesn’t function and it’s usually during this wintery period that it is needed the most.
